The other important piece of legislation does apply today. The Kratom Consumer Protection Act, House Bill 2550, was passed in April 2019. It regulates kratom products, including their distribution, production, labeling, and sale.
This bill does not make kratom illegal. It only makes it illegal to sell it to minors, defined as those under 18 years old. The goal of the law was to protect consumers from unscrupulous sellers.
